Melissa Hoover Landscape Design is a small
private design firm, specializing in planting design, high-end
residential design, commercial design, and site master planning.

Our Staff
Melissa Hoover, Owner
While designing with plants, Melissa uses many of the skills
developed when studying clothing design (BS from the Ohio State
University). She considers both form and function in her
design work, which has won many statewide awards.
Jennifer Schneller, Landscape Architect
Since joining the firm, state licensed landscape
architect Jennifer Schneller has been designing both residential and
commercial projects. Jennifer's previous experience includes an
award-winning four-year stint at the Columbus Recreation & Parks
Department. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Art History, and a
Master's degree in Landscape Architecture from the Ohio State
University.
Lindsay Diewald, Design Assistant
Lindsay holds a bachelor’s degree in Landscape Horticulture from the
Ohio State University. During her time at Ohio State, she worked in
their Chadwick Arboretum and Learning Gardens, where she gained
extensive experience in garden maintenance and design. An internship
at a local landscape design/build firm accompanied her degree in
horticulture. She has also studied garden and planting design while
abroad in the United Kingdom.
History and Philosophy
Since 1993, Melissa Hoover Landscape Design has
been offering landscape design services for residential and commercial
clients throughout central Ohio. We specialize in creating outdoor
environments with a distinctive atmosphere.
From refined elegance to splashy color, we design in a variety of
styles and landscape media to suit your tastes and needs. MHLD is able
to provide a range of design services for your site, based on your
input and approval.
These services include planting plans, comprehensive master plans,
site analysis, construction detailing, construction phasing and
implementation, seasonal color plans and maintenance.
